Our Scooters

Scooters are popular in cities and towns for traveling or commuting whether they are Push scooters or Roketa scooters.
Scooters are a smaller version of the motorcycle but with some special individual features such as an integrated platform for the driver’s feet, footrests and a special step-through. Motorcycles are heavier and normally have larger wheels. Plus, scooters are a lot cheaper and easier to use as compared to cars and motorcycles. These are just a few of the reasons that have made people use them extensively in crowded cities worldwide, as a viable alternative to public transportation or driving.

The first scooters were designed before World War I and Lambretta and Vespa were to pioneers to start it all. Almost the entire history of modern scooters is based on these first models, and the first real progress was noticeable during World War II when Vespa and Lambretta became popular and sold well. Small wheels, level floorboards and reduced storage space were the features of these early scooters. The continuously variable transmissions were introduced in later years, and the four-stroke engines replaced the two-stroke gearbox unit.

Personal transportation has always been the main purpose of scooters, and the engines designed from 50 to 250 cc are the best options for such applications. There are producers that manufacture larger scooters with more powerful engines than these traditional categories, but they are not as popular as the small versions. All the traffic conditions and additional requirements specific to scooters seem by far the most convenient on the market because they are the least demanding. Just think of insurance, registration and licensing: the regulations corresponding to scooters are a lot more advantageous than for cars.

For many Europeans and Asians, scooters are the most popular urban means of transportation because of the easy driving position, the low cost, and the possibility to get everywhere in time without having to worry about traffic. In fact, while the sales of automobiles have decreased, those for scooters have gone up. This is justified by the fact that scooters could satisfy some family vehicle needs when there are not enough funds to purchase a car.

The reduced fuel consume makes scooters environment friendly and a real source of money savings, and such an advantage definitely influences a buyer’s choice. Hybrid scooters have also been designed over the last years, and they can be powered both by batteries and gas. The green alternative is a bit more expensive, but the costs are still low if we make a parallel with hybrid cars for instance.
